    What Are Kei Trucks?

Kei Trucks (also known as Kei-class trucks or Japanese light trucks) are small yet practical pickup trucks that come in rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel-drive models.

These particular trucks are designed to satisfy what's known as the Japanese keijidōsha (軽自動車, "light vehicle") statutory class. In Japan, they're known as keitora (軽トラ, "light truck") along with the microvan.

Our mini trucks come in three versions:

    • 4 x 4
    • Right-hand drive (RHD)
    • Manual transmission

The wheel sizes for mini trucks are usually 12", and most models have the capacity to be lifted to handle 14" wheels and tires without any problem. When it comes to Subaru models, they're built with a four-cylinder motor instead of the three-cylinder versions common with other brands, and they also have independent rear suspension.

There's a supercharged model available from Subaru, and you can contact us to learn more about it. It's important to note that mini trucks don't come with airbags.

    Workplace Efficiency

If you own a heavy-duty truck, you're probably all too familiar with your UTV needing to be unloaded, do whatever work needs to be done, and then have to load up the UTV again. Mini trucks give you a substantial advantage since they can drive themselves to the job site while carrying up to 800 lbs in the bed.

This enables you to quickly get the job done by delivering the cargo all in one shot and then return to your place of origin. The low bed height on a mini truck is also advantageous since employees can load heavy materials quicker and easier as opposed to doing the same type of loading work with a large F150.

    Advertising

People notice mini trucks at first glance since they're not very common vehicles in the US. In fact, most people in America have never even seen one before. This makes a mini truck a unique novelty factor where your company logo and/or colors will enable the vehicle to really stand out and grab attention.

A lot of people in America have been known to inquire about the truck and what it can do since they're not familiar with it, and in the process, the people will get to know your company and what your business can do.

    Fuel Savings

It only takes about $25 (when considering today's gas prices) to fill up the tank of a Japanese mini truck. To fill the tank of a larger truck, it'll take about two to three times that amount. Needless to say, you save gas with a mini truck, but at the same exact time, Kei trucks get between 400 to 500 kilometers just from a single full tank.

If you do the math, that's about eight liters per 100 km. Your annual fuel savings can be well into the thousands depending on how much you drive.

What Are the Uses for Mini Trucks?

Japanese mini trucks are well known for excellence in performance when it comes to both commercial and personal usage. Not only do they have off-road capabilities, but they're affordable and durable.

You'll save money when you choose a mini truck instead of a UTV or ATV. The most common uses for Japanese mini trucks include the following:

    • Farming - Japanese Kei-class mini trucks provide services to farmers for day-to-day activities. At one point, these trucks were built specifically for farming work, and with factors like four-wheel-drive, dump beds, locking differentials, and other related features, they're still the perfect choice for a variety of farming and agricultural applications.
    • Construction - One of the key advantages of Japanese Kei-class mini trucks is the compact format of the vehicle. This makes it ideal for many tight job sites that have to move cargo within confined areas. Mini trucks are utilitarian as well as affordable thus giving you a better alternative to pickup trucks and ATVs.
    • Personal Usage - There are numerous uses for mini trucks, and these include hunting, off-road applications, drift truck work, personal work, and daily work. There's practically no limit to the applications and opportunities mini trucks offer, and they've become more and more popular as of recently.
    • Fleet - When it comes to closed campuses, large private ranches, and private properties, Japanese mini trucks stand second to none if you're looking to haul goods or transport people. A variety of different private properties prefer low-speed vehicles such as golf carts, however Japanese mini trucks are a more affordable option for golf courses. The compact size of these vehicles makes them more convenient since they can be stored in a more compact area. They can also drive on smaller areas such as trails and walkways.

    Mini Trucks Models

Each mini truck has unique features (which include axle locks and differential locks) depending on the model, but many of them share the same general format for convenience. Some of the most popular models include:

    • Minidump trucks
    • Flatbed mini trucks
    • 4 x 4 mini trucks
    • Scissor-lift mini trucks
    • Air-conditioned mini trucks
    • Manual transmission mini trucks
